Q: How did you come up with the store name?
Well, two reasons. First, Amanda's mom, who grew up on farm in Hartwell, Ga, always reminisced about playing "under the pecan tree" by the barn. She always smiled when she shared these memories. Second, since we had always worked in the corporate world and had no experience owning a store or leasing space, we didn't think we could qualify for a shopping center lease. So, we purchased a 1939 bungalow for our shop location – a little house with a huge, old pecan tree in the front yard. Before we could open our doors, we were approached by a developer who saw potential in our space. The result is great – we are now in a fantastic, busy retail center!!!
We considered changing the name, but we believe that “under the pecan tree” conveys our friendly, unpretentious attitude. Besides, Dianne DaLee of DaLee & Company, Inc. designed such a great logo for us… how could we change our name?
Q: Can you order something for me?
We will do our best. If we carry the product line, we will do our best to order exactly what you’re looking for! (Or, if you would like us to respond without ending the sentences with a preposition, “we will do our best to order the exact product for which you are looking!”)
Q: Can you carry this brand?
Well, if you want it, then it may be a perfect fit. However, it may be that the reason we don’t already have is because we are not allowed to carry the brand; a store close by may carry the brand, and the territory may be protected. Q: What is your Return Policy?
Receipts are required for returns. With an original Under the Pecan Tree receipt, unused items in their original packaging may be returned as follows:
Items returned within ten (10) calendar days of the purchase date listed on the receipt may be returned for a refund equal to the listed purchase price plus applicable taxes.
Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment; when the purchaser paid by check, the refund will be held for seven (7) days from the date the check was deposited into the Under the Pecan Tree account.
Items returned within thirty (30) calendar days of the purchase date listed on the receipt may be returned for a Store Credit equal to the listed purchase price plus applicable taxes. The Store Credit will be valid for sixty (60) days from the issue date. The customer is responsible for maintaining and presenting the Store Credit document.

No Refunds, No Exchanges, No Store Credit will be issued for:
- Sale, discounted items
- Special order, personalized items
- Seasonal/holiday items are not eligible for return after the applicable holiday
